Bye, Bye, Belize!

Hey everyone! I just got back from an exciting year in Belize with my parents. It's nice to be home, but I also miss the heat and the smell of the jungle. I also miss my monkey, one of the best friends I've ever had. Anyways, I'm super happy to see my friends again and I created this blog to tell everyone about adjusting back to life in Michigan. I hope you guys enjoy my journey back into normalness!

  1. Hi Jess! I'm Saoirse. I also had to adjust moving somewhere new--twice, actually! I moved from Ireland to New York City when I was 8, and had to learn a whole new language! Then, I moved to Maine, and again had to adjust from living in a city of 8 million people to a town of only a few thousand! It's been hard getting used to all these changes, but it was worth it in the end! I'm sure you'll be able to get used to America again in no time!

  2. Hi Saorise! Thanks! I'm sure I will too :) It just takes time I guess...It must've been tough to learn a new language. I was with my parents the whole time I was in Belize so I just spoke English, like I always do, so I didn't have to adjust all that much. The culture is very different there, as well as the people and the environment. We slept on hammocks instead of beds and it was so incredibly loud there, not because of people but because of animals :) Anyways, I'm glad you like it here in America, and I'm so glad you decided to follow my blog :D

  3. Hey Jess! I had to adjust from a big move too; living with my parents in New York City and then moving to my mom's friend Skye's house in Maine. I didn't have to learn a new language, but it sure was tough leaving my old friends and beloved city to come to a place I had never been! I'm sure you'll have a good time adjusting! I'm looking forward to more posts coming from you! :D

    1. Hey Dani! Yeah, it was tough to leave my friends for Belize, even though it was only temporary. I hope you like living with your mom's friend, and that you made a ton of new friends in Maine! Thanks, I think I will too, I'm just a little nervous about how everyone is going to accept me at school, with me being gone and homeschooled for a year in another country...Anyways, I hope you enjoy my future posts! :D

  5. Hey Jess! It was so great to meet you and Dani and Saoirse and all their friends at Dani's birthday the other day! I've never had to move before, I've lived in the same place with my mom's friend Susie all my life. Luckily you didn't have to learn a new language like Saoirse, I've been taking French in school and it's really hard! I love your blog so far - keep writing!
